I did not declare CPP/NPA/NDF as ‘persona non grata’

Terrorists which for decades perpetuated violence against the Filipino people under the umbrella of the Communist Party of the Philippines/New People’s Army/ National Democratic Front (CPP/NPA/NDF) communist triumvirate, have found a staunch ally and defender in Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Friday lambasted Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Ano for saying that her city has declared members of the CPP-NPA-NDF as persona non grata.

Belmonte denied that Quezon City had passed a resolution declaring the CPP/NPA/NDF as persona non grata.

Año said earlier that Quezon City is one of the nine Metro Manila local government units that passed a resolution declaring that  CPP-NPA-NDF members are not welcome in their cities.

He identified the other cities as Navotas, Valenzuela, Pasig, Muntinlupa, Mandaluyong, Las Piñas, Caloocan and San Juan.

In Quezon City, according to Belmonte, people are free to express their views, so long as they follow the rule of law and behave accordingly.
