DUTERTE WANTS THE NEXT PRESIDENT TO BE A LAWYER; LENI IS, BONGBONG IS NOT

By ROGER M. BALANZA

If given the chance to choose the next President of the Philippines, presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo would be his pick, based on the qualities he would wish of his successor.

One of the qualities of the next president, would be that one must be a lawyer, said Duterte when asked what kind of president should Filipinos elect, in an interview with Sonshine Media Network International on Saturday.

In the program in the media network of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Duterte said a decisive, compassionate lawyer is an ideal president of the country.

Of the 10 candidates running for President in the May 9 polls, only Vice President Leni Robredo and Jose Montemayor are lawyers. In pre-poll surveys, Robredo is trailing front-rinner former senator Bongbong Marcos, son of the late dictator presiden Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

BONGBONG MARCOS TO GO SOLO IN QUIBOLOY’S SMNI NETWORK PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES’ DEBATE

Other bets to boycott Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) event

Only former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., was expected to attend, as Quiboloy has announced he is supporting the presidential bid in the 2022 election of the son of the late dictator president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. Bongbong is running in tandem with presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte under the UniTeam banner.

Presidential candidates na sina Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen.
