A former Davao del Sur police chief accused of rape and sexual harassment by four policewomen and the wives of two police officers has been ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan.  The warrant for the arrest of Senior Superintendent Cesario Darantinao was signed by Sandiganbayan chair Efren de la Cruz of the Sandigan First Diivion on February 13. Davao radio broadcasters behind ‘text scams’

    The Davao City Police Office (DCPO), Department of Industry (DTI) and the Davao City Chapter of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas (KBP) have been asked to conduct a joint probe on Davao City-based radio broadcasters involved in the so-called “text scam.” The city-based Peoples Exponent Against Ctizens’ Exploitation (PEACE) said the radiomen, usually ‘blocktimers’ selling alleged winning numbers in the Philippine Lotto, have already victimzed hundreds of thousands of pesos through the scam sent out through text messaging informing them of having won in dubious raffles.
