CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR): NORDECO extends help to flood victims in Asuncion, Davao del Norte

Northern Davao Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NORDECO) extends help to the flood victims in the Barangays of Camoning, San Vicente, Napungas, and Pamacaun in the Municipality of Asuncion in Davao del Norte. A total of 535 food packs which includes rice, canned goods and calendars were distributed by our personnel last January 21,2022.

NORDECO: Public asked not to plant trees in areas with power lines

Northern Davao Electric Cooperative (NORDECO) reminds the public not to plant trees near the electrical lines, three (3) meters left and right side, as mandated by Republic Act 11361, Anti-Obstruction of Power Lines Act.

Nordeco will imediately respond to any request/information to clear power lines with trees threatening the structures. Below photos show the results of a clearing operation.

Yesterday, January 21, 2022, NORDECO Warriors of Light successfully conducted line vegetation clearing at Gabuyan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte. This activity significantly helps in minimizing emergency power interruptions and reducing system loss, thereby improving power efficiency.

CONSUMERS, SUPPORTERS HOLD PEACE RALLY VS. DAVAO LIGHT TAKEOVER OF NORDECO FRANCHISE AREAS

Two groups and consumers of North Davao Electric Cooperative (NORDECO) held a peace rally inTagum City on Friday, January 14, to express strong opposition to a take over of the electric cooperative by power giant Aboitiz-owned Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC).

The Coalition Against Privatization of Electric Cooperatives (CAPECs) and the National Center of Electric Cooperative Consumers (NCECCO) Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro Chapter, Inc. provided muscles to a call by some 94,000 consumers of Nordeco against House Bill 10554, which expands the franchise of DLPC to the Cities of Samal and Tagum, and the Municipalities of Talaingod, Asuncion, Kapalong, San Isidro, New Corella, Davao del Norte, and the Municipality of Maco, Davao de Oro which are all in the franchise Nordeco.

CAPECs and NCECCO have petitioned legislators to junk the ill that has already been passed on second reading by the House of Representatives.

ELECTRIC COOPS FRIDAY PROTEST CONTINUES; PRAYERS OFFERED TO LATE GM SOTTO

January 7, 2022, NORDECO, Inc. offered a prayer for strength, wisdom, and guidance to all Electric Cooperatives (ECs) as a protest against all injustices to and unfair treatment of all ECs.

Moreover, the employees also offered a prayer to our late General Manager, Mario Angelo M. Sotto who already joined our Creator. His sudden loss fuels NORDECO to continue and keep on with the fight to protect and preserve the rights and gains of rural electrification towards sustainable development.
