Pinangunahan ni Santo Tomas Mayor Ernesto Evangelista and Barangay Tibal-og Punong Barangay Ricky Inodioan ang pamamahagi ng tulong pinansyal para sa mga beneficiaries ng “Tulong Pangkabubayan Sa Ating Displaced Workers (TUPAD)” sa bayan ng Santo Tomas ngayong araw ng Miyerkules, Oktubre 27, 2021.
Ayon kay Evangelista , tumanggap ng halagang P3, 960 na ayuda ang bawat benepisyaryo ng TUPAD katumbas ng 10-araw na trabaho matapos mawalan ang mga ito ng kabuhayan dahil sa epekto ng pandemya na dulaot ng COVID-19.
Maliban sa 345 na mga benepisyaryo, pinangunahan rin ni Evangelista ang pamimigay ng negosyo cart para sa mga mas higit na nangangailangan para makapag-umpisa ng munting negosyo. Ito ay programa rin ng Department of Trade and Industry -Davao del Norte na nasungkit rin ng alkalde para sa mga Tomasino.

“Nalipay kita kay naplastar na sa DOLE ang payroll sa 366 beneficiaries ug akong gimanduan ang opisina sa Public Employment Service Office (PESO) na i-schedulan na og payout next week para ma-release na ang sweldo sa mga beneficiaries,” Mayor Ernesto Evangelista said over the weekend.
Evangelista said his administration would continue to access programs and services as part of the continuous effort to aid the vulnerable workers amidst the pandemic through DOLE’s
Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program.
Over 366 beneficiaries from several barangays would finally receive their pay for their 10-day community work during these trying times.

Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña received the cheque amounting to P5, 515, 184 from DOLE-TUPAD Focal Person Ms. Lalaine Apugan spearheaded by DOLE-Davao del Norte Field Office Head Ms. Lina Talingting with Mr. Dave Villegas, the Child Labor Program Focal on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 at the Municipal Mayor’s Office.
Joining with her is PESO head Ms. Joy Gonzaga of which the assistance is intended for the beneficiaries of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers program
.The said emergency employment aid will benefit vulnerable Tomasino workers in the municipality of Santo Tomas.
The assistance came after Mayor Ernesto Evangelista and Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña pushed for the availment of the program with Santo Tomas LGU being a DOLE – Davao del Norte program partner.
This was made possible through the leadership of DOLE Secretary’s Silvestre “Bebot” Bello’s Serbisyong TUPAD at this time of pandemic.
The 148 beneficiaries were residents from Barangay Pantaron, New Katipunan, San Miguel, San Jose, Bobongon, Balagunan, Lunga-og, Kinamayan, Kimamon and Casig-ang.
Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña said the Evangelista administration’s “Aksyon Sa Kabuhayan” program is part of the Santo Tomas LGU’s recovery and rehabilitation efforts particularly to those who have lost their livelihoods.

SANTO TOMAS, Davao del Norte (September 6, 2021)—In its bid to curb the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the youth sector and displaced single motorcycle riders, Mayor Ernesto Evangelista here on Monday said that his administration would facilitate the release of wages intended for 100 Tomasino youth and 49 members of the Tomas Angkas Riders Aksyon Club under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged (TUPAD) workers program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
“Nalipay kita kay ang atong gipaabot na financial assistance para sa mga kabataang Tomasino ug miyembro sa TARAC niabot na ug mahatag na nato ang ilahang sweldo pinaagi sa DOLE-TUPAD program. Kini tanan bunga sa atong pagpaningkamot na makasungkit og financial assistance gikan sa national government para mahatagan og assistance ang atong katawhang Tomasino,” Mayor Ernesto Evangelista said.
He added that another batch of displaced single motorcycle riders under TARAC would receive cash aid for the upcoming DOLE-TUPAD payouts since slots were implemented by batches.
Evangelista vowed that his administration would continue to find ways to extend support to the youth sector and to the displaced single motorcycle riders in the Municipality of Santo Tomas.
The TUPAD is a DOLE support program for victims of natural calamities and disasters aimed at making available short-term wage employment as an immediate source of income for beneficiaries and their families.
A total of 149 beneficiaries would receive their wages today afternoon at the Municipal Covered Court to be spearheaded by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) under the helm of Ms. Joy Gonzaga. Of the 149 beneficiaries, 100 were Tomasino youth and 49 displaced single motorcycle riders. All beneficiaries would receive wages amounting to P3,960.00 equivalent to 10-days work period.
Mayor Ernesto Evangelista and Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña would hand over the control numbers of remittance partner as proof of claims for assistance to beneficiaries.
For her part, Municipal Administrator Atty. Elisa Evangelista-Lapiña said that the Evangelista administration would never stop working helping the displaced sectors, especially the youth, and other marginalized sectors of the Tomasino community.
“Dili kita mag-undang tabang sa katawhang Tomasino ilabi na katong mga sector na marginalized and naigo sa pandemic. Ginabuhat nato ang tanan kay responsibilidad sa atong Santo Tomas LGU ang muhatag og saktong serbisyo pinaagi sa mga programang makatabang sa panginabuhian sa katawhang Tomasino,” Municipal Administrator Atty.
