CHIONGKEE UY slams ex-Speaker Alvarez for attacking President Duterte

Lies and distortion

COMPOSTELA VALLEY -BULAWAN FESTIVAL

Former Davao de Oro Governor and now Senior Board Member Arturo Uy denounced what he described as blatant lies and distortion of what the government has done and been doing to address the complex problems brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic and how the Duterte administration handled the issues surrounding the West Philippine Sea.

Pinapalabas ni Alvarez na wala ng ginawang mabuti ang pamahalaang Duterte upang matulungan at maibsan ang kahirapan ng mga mamamayan  sa gitna ng problemang dulot ng pademya.  Pinapalabas din niya na parang kasalanan ng gobyerno ang mawalan ng trabaho at mga OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) na yon nama’y dahil  maraming negosyo na nagsara dahil sila rin ay naapektuhan ng pandemya (Alvarez makes it appear that the administration of Duterte is not doing anything to help and alleviate the difficulties of the people in the midst of the pandemic. He also put the blame on the government for why the OFWs lost their jobs when the real cause is that businesses [in other countries] closed because of the pandemic),” Uy said.

He added that through the initiative of President Duterte, Davao del Norte province, towns and cities were recipients of more of less PHP800-million under Bayanihan 1 and 2 and other augmentation funds to help those who lost their livelihood due to the pandemic.

The President, he said, saw to it that the province gets a substantial budget for infrastructures.

Uy, who is an incumbent pillar of HnP, denounced the group for putting the blame on Duterte for tension at the West Philippine Sea and loss of Scarborough shoal when the truth is the islands at WPS had been a subject of the multi-lateral claim and it was the administration of ex-Pres. Benigno Aquino abandoned the Scarborough.

He said he is in accord with the diplomatic strategies of Duterte as Filipino fishermen can still fish in the traditional fishing ground and China opening their markets for Philippine products.

China, he added, is now the biggest buyer of Philippine Cavendish bananas thus saving thousands of jobs especially the agricultural workers in Davao del Norte.

He said because of Duterte, China extends cheap loans to the Philippines to finance infrastructure projects including the Samal bridge, three bridges that span Pasig River that cost billions of pesos are also donations from China, not to mention the unquantifiable assistance the country extended to help medical front-liners.

Uy, who had been tasked by HnP to strengthen the regional party, hit innuendos in the manifesto stating that the next President for 2022 is a leader who is “not a pretender”, “with brains”, with “balls” and political will, and can lead.

He said the party will continue to support the leadership of President Duterte who steadfastly navigate the country against all the challenges of the time, adding that the region will always be behind HnP chairperson, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte.

Duterte, he added, is a genuine leader imbued with courage and intellect.

“And yes she has the political will and guts to engage even a Speaker of the House if needed,” he said, referring to the Mayor who topped the recent Pulse Asia survey among the probable Presidential candidates in the 2022 elections. (Jun Ledesma/PNA)

DAVNOR HUGPONG SLAMS ALVAREZ WING FAKE SURVEY

INDAY SARA PARTY  LAUGHS OFF ALVAREZ CAMP’S CLAIM OF VICTORY IN FAKE SURVEY

The political party led by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio responded with boisterous laughter at the claim by propagandists in media of Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez that candidates of the Alvarez Wing are way ahead of the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) bets in the Davao del Norte races in the elections on May 13.

This is another case of Alvarez and his spokesmen dispensing fake surveys to misinform the public to cover up their impending and ignominous defeat in the coming elections, said HNP DavNor in a statement.
Uncontrolled guffaws added more to the laughter over claims by Alvarez propagandists that the latest survey showing Alvarez Wing leading in the race, was conducted allegedly by the Anflocor Group of Companies.

fake survey

Wala mi ana nga survey. That is fake. Ang resulta sa among survey naga-ingon nga karon pa lang, si Jubahib ug Alvarez mag-empake na pauli sa Siargao, said Anflocor in a brief statement in reaction to the claim of the Alvarez camp.
The reectionist Floirendo is a candidate of the HNP whose victory is assured against the challenge of token Alvarez Wing candidate Vice Governor Alan Dujali, a Floirendo political protege turned foe.
The Davao del Norte election features the HNP DavNor vs. the Alvarez Wing of First District Rep. Alvarez, whose credilibility in the province is down to zero following his ouster last year as Speaker of the House of Representatives over allegations of corruption.
HNP DavNor candidates, who are supported by President Rodrigo Duterte and Mayor Sara are Floirendo vs. Dujali in the Second District race, Gov. Anthony del Rosario against reelectionist Alvarez in the First District and Rodolfo “Rodney” del Rosario Jr. for Governor pitted against virtual unknown former bus conductor and alleged fixer of public works contracts Edwin Jubahib, the personal assistant of the ex-Speaker. Jubahib is the current talk-of-the-town in DavNor with people calling him a joker, and his bid to challenge a del Rosario the funniest political joke in the coming polls.

HNP DavNor said it would not be surprised if Alvarez and his propagandists resort to fake surveys to salvage the zero credibility of their lead candidates Alvarez, and Jubahib who is reported as a dummy for Alvarez’s multi-million land-buying spree that included two resort properties in the Island Garden City of Samal (Igacos) and Talikud Island totalling more than 300 hectares.

MASSACRE

In the coming polls, doomsday is predicted for Alvarez and his Alvarez Wing with practically all the political who-is-who in the province behind HNP DavNor. Coupled with the support of President Duterte and Mayor Inday, people are dubbing the political slaughter of Alvarez and his company as the “2019 Massacre.”

KONTRA DUTERTEasshole 2
The Alvarez camp fake surveys are as fake as the accusations they level against Floirendo and the del Rosarios, said the party of Mayor Sara in the statement.
HNP DavNor recalled that in January, the Alvarez camp spread in the province an alleged survey by the prestigious Social Weather Station (SWS), showing results with Alvarez Wing candidates winning with wide margins over candidates of the HNP.

SWS SLAMS FAKE SURVEY SHOWING ALVAREZ WINNING IN DAVNOR RACE

FAKE SURVEY

Mahar Mangahas, SWS executive officer, would issue a public statement denouncing the alleged survey as fake.
Mangahas also ordered an investigation into the forgery to ferret out the groups or persons behind the fake survey that used its company logo without authority. He said SWS would file criminal charges against the forgers suspected as belonging to the Alvarez Wing, a local bloc of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino/Lakas ng Bansa (PDP/Laban) of which Alvarez is secretary general.
HNP DavNor in the statement also described as a big joke the claim by the Alvarez propagandists that the survey with Alvarez Wing bets winning was conducted by Anflocor, which is owned by the family of Floirendo.
If it is an Anflocor survey, naturally the results would favor our candidates, Gov. del Rosario, Board member Rodney and Tonyboy. But we are not experts in manipulation and fakery like Alvarez and his propagandists, said HNP DavNor.
The party admits though it is also conducting pre-poll surveys for the 2019 midterm elections.
We are not releasing the surveys lest we be accused of forging results which is the franchize of Alvarez and his camp, it said.
“It is suffice to say that Alvarez and Jubahib would be starting to pack their bags for a trip to Siargao if the results are made public, HNP DavNor said in jest in the statement.

REPORT: ALVAREZ BOUGHT SIARGAO PROPERTIES WORTH P500 MILLION

SIARGAO LAND BUYING SPREE

Reports have it that in the two years that Alvarez was the sitting House Speaker, he and his personal assistant Jubahib partnered in a buying spree that gobbled up millions of pesos worth of prime shoreline properties in the tourist island of Siargao in Surigao del Norte.
Aside from dishing out fake surveys, Alvarez and his propagandists accuse the Floirendos and the del Rosarios of failing to improve the province.
The Floirendo and del Rosario clans have been steering the political leadership for nearly 40 years of Davao del Norte, now the most progressive province in Davao Region and Southern Mindanao. Alvarez, on the other hand, was an inconsequential dot for 15 in the province’s political landscape, having lost twice in previous elections, until he won in the 2016 elections with the support of Floirendo and the del Rosarios.

DAVAO BROADCASTER GAGS SELF, CLEANS FACEBOOK POSTS OVER FAKE NEWS VS. FLOIRENDO

michael manguhig
The manager of a radio station in Davao City has stopped broadcasting his public affairs radio program and totally cleaned up his Facebook account of libelous politically-slanted posts over accusation he was spreading fake news.
Michael Manguhig, radio station manager of Davao City-based DXKT of the Radio Philippines Network (RPN), made the abrupt and unceremonious retreat following his posting of a “fake news” in his Facebook account that reported that reelectionist Davao del Norte Second District Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr. has given up his reelection bid in the May 13 mid-term election.

rpn dxkt
Manguhig also widely discussed the erroneous Floirendo post in his one-hour daily early morning public affairs program in his radio station, where he was appointed as station manager only recently.

On Facebook, Manguhig identifies himself as a member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) through postings related to activities of the religious organization.

The fake news of Manguhig was also picked up by other radio broadcasters and shared by netizens to inflict damage on the reelection bid of Floirendo whose camp dismissed the report as fake news as Floirendo is not backing out of the race.

Manguhi’s radio program and Facebook account are known to promote Alvarez and other candidates of the Alvarez Wing and for hard-hitting politics-related news and commentaries against candidates of the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP), the regional political party of presidential daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.

floirendo pic

The HNP lead candidates in the Davao del Norte races are Floirendo in the Second District, Rodolfo “Rodney” del Rosario Jr. for Governor and Gov. Anthony del Rosario in the First District Congress race.
The HNP is up against the Alvarez Wing, a local political bloc of the PDP/Laban.

Alvarez Wing is front-lined by former House Speaker First District Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez whose reelection is being challenged by Gov. del Rosario.

agr interview

Aside from Alvarez, the other Alvarez Wing candidates are former bus conductor and virtual unknown Edwin Jubahib in the race for governor against HNP’s Senior Board Provincial member Rodney del Rosario, and token candidate Vice Governor Alan Dujali versus Floirendo in the Second District. Dujali is a former political ally and protege of Floirendo who has junked his political patron to join Alvarez.

Alvarez seeks reelection limping from his ouster as Speaker of the House of Representatives in a coup in July last year over allegations of corruption and his alleged dictatorial manner of running affairs of the House.

duterte alvarez 2

To add to his woes, President Rodrigo Duterte, chairman of the PDP/Laban of which the ex-Speaker is the secretary general, has endorsed the bids of Floirendo and the del Rosarios.

Manguhig’s stunt to voluntarily stop his  Facebook posting  and as anchorman of a radio program stands on record as a first in local media for a journalist accused of peddling fake news.
In social media, Manguhig, who uses the alias “AGAW JUN” in his Facebook account, is known to pepper his news and commentaries with the same scurrilous anti-HNP tenor as in his hard-hitting broadcast on DXKT RPN against candidates of the party of Mayor Sara Duterte.
In his radio program and social media posts, Manguhig openly bares his political bent in violation of media ethics on non-partisanship in elections with his all-out support for Alvarez and other candidates of the Alvarez Wing.
Manguhig’s commentary in the air lane and post on Facebook on Floirendo throwing the towel in his reelection bid, sparked widespread discussion in a media chat room and in gatherings of media persons last week.

The tsunami of fake news in media and ethical standards for newsmen is a hot topic among the public and the media community as black propaganda invades print and broadcast media and the Internet as the May 13 elections draw near.

Manguhig had an interrupted holiday on peddling fake news at HNP and its candidates and blowing horns for Alvarez and the Alvarez Wing until his post that reported Floirendo running away from the race.
In the media chat room, some journalists volunteered to convince Manguhig to take down the Facebook post and stop his libelous commentaries in his radio program  on pain of being slapped charges of violation of the Cybercrime Law on libel and other laws on libel.

A member of the press, a godfather of Manguhig,  who took the effort to convince him to lie low on reporting fake news, said Manguhig sent him on April 30 this message:

“Salamat po sa pa Birthday mo sa akin na pakikipag usap.tungkol sa aking programa. Simula bukas hindi na.po ako uupo sa Programa sa RPN.”

Manguhig also deleted all his biased, partisan and politically-beefed posts and comments on Facebook and sent off-air  his program on DXKT which is also broadcast live on Facebook.

Manguhig and the radio station did not make a statement on the sudden retreat.
Manguhig’s disappearance from the air lanes and social media, triggered various speculations:
1. That he has admitted he was spreading fake news and realized that media should not be used by politicians in black propaganda
2. That he feared being slapped with libel
3. That he was reprimanded by INC for dragging
4. That he was threatened by RPN top management with dismissal as newly-appointed DXKT station manager

The campaign of Alvarez and the Alvarez Wing is backstopped in media by more than a dozen radio broadcasters, many of them without license from the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas (KBP),  and revealed as under the House payroll of the former Speaker getting monthly pay as consultants or contract workers of as much as P50,000.

MASSACRE
With barely two weeks before the May 13 election, the Alvarez campaign is losing steam against the HNP, led by Floirendo and the del Rosarios, who has swayed political dominance over Davao del Norte for more than 30 years. Mayor Sara Duterte is also personally campaigning against his reelection. Adding more to Alvarez’s misery is former Governor Rodolfo del Rosario Sr., who is the campaign manager of the HNP.
Before winning a seat in Congress in the 2016 election, with the political and financial support of Floirendo and the del Rosarios as the ex-Speaker publicly admitted, Alvarez had fought and lost to rivals backed by the Floirendo and del Rosario clans in two previous elections in the First District Congress race.

Alvarez was first elected to Congress in 2001, but left the post to join the administration of then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. He had a brief stint in the Arroyo Cabinet, where he would be  charged for graft over an allegedly anomalous  multi-million peso contract in the rehabilitation of the Manila international airport.

He would then lose twice in his bid to recapture his Congress post.

Alvarez resurfaced from his political limbo in 2016 and joined the bandwagon of the victorious presidential  campaign of then Davao City Mayor Duterte and won his old seat back. This time he was on the same train as Floirendo and the del Rosarios who supported Mayor Duterte.
His being named as Speaker is reported as strongly lobbied with the newly-elected President Duterte  by Floirendo, who contributed about P70 million to the Duterte presidential campaign.
In Davao del Norte, Dabaonons, fully aware of the ex-Speaker’s background,  describe Alvarez as a “snake in the grass” for now fighting Floirendo and the del Rosarios who had helped him rise from his dead politics.

HNP: ALVAREZ AN ‘INCONSEQUENTIAL DOT’ IN DAVNOR MAY ELECTIONS

sara-hugponglogo
There is no need for Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte to hit at Davao del Norte First District reelectionist Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez, even as the presidential daughter had earlier vowed to personally campaign against the former House Speaker. At this point in time, the discredited former Speaker is an inconsequential dot in the political landscape of Davao del Norte, said the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) in a statement.

There is no need for Mayor Inday Sara to waste her time on a candidate that no longer matters in the coming May elections, said HNP in the brief statement.
The HNP, a regional political party founded by Inday Sara, issued the statement over misinformation spread by the camp of Alvarez that the HNP founder did not endorse Governor Anthony del Rosario during the April 13 Grand Rally of the HNP in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
Del Rosario, running under the banner of the HNP, is challenging the reelection of Alvarez.
The HNP is fielding a full HNP slate in Davao del Norte against the Alvarez-led Alvarez Wing.
In her opening speech in the rally, Inday Sara endorsed Gov. del Rosario, Second District reelectionist Rep. Tonyboy Floirendo and Rodney del Rosario for Governor.
In the speech, Inday Sara focused on her endorsement of the HNP senatorial candidates.
Earlier in July last year, Inday Sara called Alvarez an “asshole” and vowed she would personally campaign against Alvarez for calling her HNP an “opposition party.”
Inday Sara also slammed Alvarez for boasting, at the time when he was the sitting Speaker of the House of Representatives, that he had the power to impeach her father President Rodrigo Duterte.
It was enough that Inday Sara verbally in public endorsed Gov. del Rosario and his team as candidates of the HNP, said Inday Sara’s party in the statement.

duterte endorse hnp

There was no need for Inday Sara to raise the hand of Gov. del Rosario, HNP said. Shr had already done it earlier.
With Alvarez and his team fading out days before the election, the HNP in Davao del Norte may no longer need photo ops of Inday Sara raising the hands of HNP candidates, the HNP adds.
Twitting the Alvarez camp, the HNP said the HNP is not like Alvarez and his candidates who fake photos of President Duterte endorsing Alvarez Wing candidates.

JUBAHIB 4
Earlier this month, Alvarez, his gubernatorial bet virtual unknown Edwin Jubahib and Second District candidate Vice Governor Alan Dujali dogged President Duterte to get his endorsement in PDP/Laban rallies in Luzon and the Visayas.
Failing in their several attempts, the Alvarez Wing would issue a photo of President Duterte raising the hands of Jubahib and Dujali.
The photo turned out to be a photo-shopped forgery.

PANTY FIELDS FORMER BUS CONDUCTOR FOR GOVERNOR

jubahib kenkoy

Accusing elected officials, past and present, of Davao del Norte as  having done nothing in 40 years of leadership to improve the province is not the biggest insult that Panty could inflict on the Dabaonons.

After all, Dabaonons would collectively dismiss this as a big lie. The biggest insult that Panty has done is fielding a former bus conductor for Governor. In the May 13 elections, Panty leads a ragtag team against the established leadership of the province whose brand of excellent public service has been tested for nearly 40 years.

JUBAHIB 2

Panty thinks the Dabaonons deserve a Governor who is a bus conductor, no background or experience whatsoever in local governance; running on a platform of lies, tall tales and promises and black propaganda; and a fake engineer who makes dirty money as a fixer in awards of government contracts  at the public works agency.
