The Regional Trial Court (RTC) violated the mandatory 30-day reglamentary period before an eviction order is implemented, as mandated by the Urban Development and Housing Act (UDHA), said Davao City Vice Mayor Duterte, a government prosecutor before he joined politics. Thousands joined a rally Friday last week organized by supporters of Mayor Sara Duterte at the Rizal Park a week after the city’s chief executive punched a court sheriff. Tourism, property development remain top Davao City investments

BALANZA Housing and property development and tourism continue to be frontrunners in investments in Davao City, with the Davao City Investment and Incentive Board (DCIIB) approving projects worth P330 million in the first quarter of this year. BDA Holiday Prime Properties Inc. with its high-end subdivision, the P220 million Orchid Hills, led four new large investors endorsed by Davao City Investments and Promotion Center. BALANZA   PARADA DABAWENYO, the highlight of the Araw ng Dabaw 2011 celebration, lured about 250 contingents on March 16, in the culminating event of the 74th founding anniversary pf Davao City. Parade committee chair James Zimmerman said 200 of the contingents were pre-listed with 50 hitching up at the tail-end, apologizing to those who wanted to join but stymied by the long list of participants. All systems go for 3-day Araw ng Dabaw 2011   Mayor Sara Duterte has urged Dabawenyos, tourists and visitors to come out and join the 74th edition of the Araw ng Dabaw, assuring a mar-free celebration.       Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte wished Dabawenyos a peaceful and orderly celebration.       The vice mayor, who had been city mayor for 18 years before Mayor Duterte was installed after last year’s May elections, said Dabawenyos should be united.
