Reiterates importance of continuing PRRD’s holistic approach in fighting illegal drugs

The senator cited how the Duterte Administration’s campaign against illegal drugs has reduced crime rates in the Philippines, saying, “Sa nakita ko kasi sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Pangulong Duterte, kapag nako-contain mo ang paglaganap ng ilegal na droga, kasamang bumababa ang krimen at pati na rin ang korapsyon.”

According to recent reports from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, under the Duterte Administration, almost 15,000 high-value drug targets were turned over to authorities. In addition, more than PhP88 billion worth of illegal drugs, including PhP76 billion worth of shabu, were confiscated.

Go acknowledged the other programs and measures to protect peace and order that President Duterte initiated. He stressed that their continuation will help sustain the gains made under the current administration and ensure long-term security for the country.

Marcos spent P272-M in presidential campaign

The political party of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has spent some PHP272 million during the 90-day campaign period for the recently-concluded May 9 national and local elections.

Lawyer George Briones, general counsel of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), said this was reflected in the Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) which they filed at the Campaign Finance Office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Intramuros, Manila on Monday.

Briones said the PFP’s SOCE was signed and prepared by its national treasurer, Antonio Ernesto “Anton” Lagdameo, who is nominated as Marcos’s Special Assistant to the President (SAP).

The SOCE is the final Comelec requirement from the party pursuant to the Election Code and other Comelec resolutions.
