Earlier Duterte toyed with the idea of cancelling and postponing the Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan (Street Dancing) and the Pamulak sa Kadayawan (Floral Float Parade) due to security threats. 2,000 cops, soldiers to secure Kadayawan sa Dabaw festival

DAVAO CITY –- A total of 2,000 police and military troops will be deployed to ensure peace and order during the celebration of the 27th Kadayawan sa Dabaw festival on August 17-19. Senior Superintendent Ronald Dela Rosa, chief of Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said personnel from Task Force Davao (TFD), Traffic Management Center, Special Civilian Active Auxiliary Unit, police Anti-Crime Unit and Public Safety Command Center, will help intensify security measures.
