ERAP ESTRADA still in stable condition

 Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, who has been hospitalized for COVID-19 since March 28, remains in stable condition, his son said Wednesday.

“His kidney function is improving and his requirement for oxygen support is also slowly getting better,” former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada said on Facebook. “His other vital organs are functioning well.”

On Tuesday, the former president, who is turning 84 this April 19, was put on a mechanical ventilator as his pneumonia worsened.

Two days before that, the former president, who also served as Manila mayor from 2013 to 2016, was sedated and transferred to the intensive care unit for closer observation.

Jukebox Queen, OPM icon  CLAIRE DELA FUENTE, 62, DIES FROM HEART ATTACK

The jukebox singer, born Clarita Crisostomo Dela Fuente-De Guzman on December 28, 1958 died this morning, March 30, 2021, due cardiac arrest following a Covid-19 infection.

Dela Fuente achieved celebrity status in the late 1970s with the jukebox hit “Sayang”. She was dubbed “The Karen Carpenter of the Philippines” as her voice has a striking resemblance to that of the late singer. 

Her first album in 1977 was then the Philippines’ biggest ever seller. She went on to record seven more albums. Besides “Sayang”, she is also known for hits like “Minsan-Minsan” and “Nakaw Na Pag-ibig”.  She was given the title “Queen of Tagalog Songs” alongside Rico J. Puno as her counterpart. She was also named “Jukebox Queen” together with her contemporaries Imelda Papin, Eva Eugenio, and the late Didith Reyes.

Singing idol April Boy Regino passes away

Original Pilipino Music (OPM) icon April Boy Regino has passed away at the age of 51.

April Boy, born Dennis Regino Magloyuan Magdaraog, popularized some novelty songs, including “Paano Ang Pusko Ko,” “Umiiyak and Puso” and “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin” in the 1990s.

There are no details yet on the circumstances of his death but April Boy has been diagnosed to have prostate cancer in 2009. He also had diabetes that affected his vision.
