MARCOS MAY USE MILITARY POWER VS. PEOPLE POWER AGAINST HIS PRESIDENCY

Oxford: Bongbong Marcos' special diploma 'not a full graduate diploma'

A military solution could be an option for former Senator Ferdianand ” Bongbong” Marcos Jr. if he wins the presidency in the May polls but a massive people power aided by junior military officers, is mounted against him on the day that he would take his oath of office as President.

“With all the powers attached to the Office of the President you can behave and issue orders as a president. Sometimes it is a military solution, sometimes it is not,” Marcos said on Tuesday at the “Bakit Ikaw?, a job Interview program for candidates in the 2022 presidential election..

Bongbong is the first aspirant to be interviewed by the program hosted by DZRH radio station and the Manila Times and the first he attended after snubbing last weelk’s GMA7-s The Jessica Soho Presidential Interview over his claim Soho has since been biased against the Marcoses.

Bongbong, a former senator, is the son of the late dictator Ferdianand Marcos Sr. who was ousted by the People Power Recolution in 1986 after a 20-year rule marked by corruption and human rights violations.

Bongbong said he would first take his oath of office as President and then face the protesters.

“So, what could be the problem? What is the problem? So, you negotiate,” he said.

But Marcos added, “So, you make sure that the safety…you have to defend the State, you have to defend the Republic from this kind of threat.”

The issue of drug addiction of presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has resurfaced as a hot item in media interviews as the former senator hit the campaign trail in the race to Malacanang in the 2022 May elections.

The alleged addiction to high-end drug cocaine of the son of the late dictator President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. was first dished out by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte, whose 6-year term was highlighted by a vicious war against drugs that left a bloody trail of thousands of dead casualties, mostly from the poor sector.

DUTERTE: NAMING ‘MOST CORRUPT’ CANDIDATE NOT POLITICKING

“Hindi ako puwede sa ganyan.(That is a no for me)”, Bongbong said when asked if he has ever used drugs even in his youth, during an interview with DZRH radio onMonday, January 24.

Drug addition is only for the jobless and those with nothing to do, he said.“Masyado akong maraming ginagawa, the lifestyle – that kind of lifestyle, para sa mga walang ginagawa, sa walang trabaho.”

If he is elected president, Bongbong said he would not take a violent route in his war against illegal drugs. Critics say Duterte’s bloody drug war targeted small-time drug users and has killed over 30,000 Filipinos, mostly poor.

On Tuesday, January 25, in a separate interview, Bongbong told entertainment host Boy Abunda that his war on drugs would focus on a strategy where rehabilitation is given premium and “addicts are treated like patients in need of a cure.”

Bongbong said his drug war would hunt down big-time dealers, and not the poor into drug use, adding that drug use “only becomes a crime when you’re involved in the sale.”

DUTERTE: Naming ‘most corrupt’ candidate not politicking

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Tuesday said he would start talking about the May 9 elections and candidates in due time, as part of his job as the head of the country.

“I will personally name the candidates and maybe what’s wrong with them na kailangan malaman ng tao (for the people to know) because you are electing a president. Sino ‘yung pinaka-corrupt na kandidato (Who is the most corrupt candidate),” Duterte said in his prerecorded Talk to the People aired on Tuesday morning.

Duterte noted that this move is not a form of politicking, but rather merely informing the public based on the information he received. READ MORE
