Taraka Municipality in Lanao del Sur will soon enjoy the benefits of the 6 units Solar-Powered Irrigation and Water Supply Projects funded through the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) loan facility facilitated by MinDA.

When fully operational, the 6 irrigation systems can irrigate an estimated 700 hectares of fertile farmlands beside Lake Lanao. While the water supply system will serve 2,000 households.

Currently, 4 of the 6 irrigation systems are functional while the construction of water supply project is still ongoing with 60% accomplishment.

These projects are results of the cooperation of MinDA, DBP and DILG through the Mindanao Water Supply Program.
