Lagdameo father and son tandem in Bongbong administration

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Antonio Manuel Lagdameo Sr. to serve as the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations.
The veteran diplomat is the father of former Davao del Norte Rep. Antonio “Anton” Lagdameo Jr. , new special assistant to the President.

Lagdaneo served as the Philippine ambassador to the United Kingdom under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte. Marcos announced the appointment of his boyhood friend Anton, married to actress Dawn Zulueta, on May 26, a day after he was proclaimed president-elect. Anton is a nephew of Antonio “Tony Boy” Floirendo Jr., an ally of President Rodrigo Duterte. His grandfather, banana magnate Antonio Floirendo Sr., is the founder of the banana giant Tagum Agricutural Development Company (Tadeco).
Anton was a key player in Marcos’ 2022 presidential campaign and in the 2016 vice presidential bid of the son of the late president Ferdinand Marcos Sr..
