Antonio Manuel Lagdameo is new Philippine envoy to United Nations

Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Antonio Manuel Lagdameo has been assigned to a new foreign post.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Lagdameo to serve as the country’s permanent representative to the United Nations. The veteran diplomat is the father of former Davao del Norte Rep. Anton Lagdameo, new special assistant to the President.

Lagdameo took his oath of office as UN envoy before the President during a Palace ceremony. He was accompanied by his wife Linda Floirendo Lagdameo and other family members.

Lagdameo will take the seat vacated by Ambassador Enrique Manalo, who has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
