SANTO TOMAS MAYOR EVANGELISTA ORDERS SANGGUNIANG BAYAN TO PROBE ANOMALIES

Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Natural Resources and Environmental Protection chaired by Julie H. Mantequilla, vice-chaired by Eduardo L. Llorente, with Ricky C. Inodio-an, Lychyl A. Castrodes, and Cromwell S. Cocamas as members told to conduct a legislative inquiry and to look into possible violations of law or charges of wrongdoing against government officials or even private persons, with a view to determining liability or accountability with the case at bar.

Inspection Report on illegal quarry operations
Inspection Report on the quarry area of Mr. Josue Agayan Jr. located in Barangay New Visayas, Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte as inspected by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office dated December 17, 2021 where it found out that a gravel operator is operating “illegally” beyond the approved sketch map and such operation in the said area does not have a permit from Mines and Geo-sciences Bureau XI and PENRO Davao del Norte.
The quarry site is under Mr. Josue Agayan Jr.’s name, a quarry permittee, based on the records available from the Santo Tomas LGU.
However, it was learned that documents relative to the sand and gravel operations in Barangay New Visayas were processed by a certain Dennis Agayan, a staff of Davao del Norte 2nd District Congressman Alan Dujali.
Santo Tomas Mayor Ernesto Evangelista has earlier asked the Sangguniang Bayan of Santo Tomas to conduct a legislative inquiry to shed light on the issue and to ferret out the truth.READ MORE
