COVID-19 Delta variant has now infected 2,708 Filipinos as the Department of Health (DoH) on Monday reported 640 new cases of the highly transmissible.
The agency has also detected a total of 24 Alpha variant cases, which pushed the total caseload to 2,448.
Of the additional cases, 24 Alpha variant cases, 23 were local cases and one was a ROF.
Based on the case list, one patient died while 23 cases have been tagged as recovered.
Meanwhile, a total of 28 Beta variant cases have also been detected, bringing the total caseload to 2,725.
Although no longer considered as a variant of interest, the DoH reported additional five cases of P.3 variant — a variant first detected in the Philippines.
