Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Office of the Presidential Peace Adviser on the Peace Process (OPPAP) Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. and Governor Edwin Jubahib led on August 16 the turn-over of housing units to 68 members of the Indigenous People in Davao del Norte.
The beneficiary of the housing units in Sitio Tibucag, Dagohoy, Talaingod, were members of the Ata-Manobo tribe who returned to their village after years as evacuees at the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) Haran Center in Davao City.
The housing project is a program of President Rodrigo Duterte tp provide adequate shelter for the IPs in remote villages.
NHA to build 400 houses for IPs in Talaingod

The housing units in BarangayDagohoy constructed by the NHA is funded from a PHP80 million fund for the construction of housing for the IPs in four housing sites inTalaingod.
The projects are the Balai Himulayanan in Barangay Dagohoy, Balai Hibatanan in Barangay Palma Gil, Balai Pamanoykan in Sitio Cuyas, Barangay Sto. Niño and the Balai Hirogo-Unan housing in Sitio Basak, Barangay Sto. Niño.
At the groundbreaking rites and time capsule laying of the Balai Hirogo-Unan housing project in Sitio Basak, Barangay Sto. Niño in 2020, NHA-11 regional manager, Engr. Zenaida M. Cabiles, said housing for the IPs, is the fulfillment of Duterte’s election promise to provide adequate shelter for the Indigenous People .
