DAYADAY TELLS JUBAHIB: Let us help Nordeco

Davao Light denies takeover plan vs. power coop

To show he is serious in providing cheap and reliable electricity to his constituents, Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib should now help improve the Northern Davao Electric Cooperative (Nordeco), after the Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) dismissed his attempts for the power giant to take over the operation of the power coop.

This is the advice dished out by Asuncion Mayor Eufracio Dayaday, Jr., a vocal critic of Jubahib’s plot, as DLPC said it has no intention to take over the power cooperative.

Jubahib, in the forefront of the efforts on the privatization of Nordeco and its turn over to the DLPC, claimed corruption and mismanagement in the coop that has been serving the provinces of Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro (formerly Compostela Valley) for nearly five decades

General Manager Mario Angelo Sotto dismissed Jubahib’s claim, hinting that dirty money could be involved in the governor’s efforts to throw away the power coop to the Aboitiz-owned company.
