A crime-busting village chief of Davao City was killed after he was attacked by unknown gunmen this evening, 5/25/21, in his residence at Purok 10, Muslim Village (more known as “Bonsayan”) in Barangay 9A.
Reports said that Barangay Captain Roderico “Tata” Llubit was feeding his pets when the attackers barged in.
Llubit was in his forties.
Some residents in the area said they heard at least four gunshots while authorities were quoted to have said that they were looking at 2 to 3 possible suspects armed with Armalite rifle.
The barangay official reportedly took the bullets at the neck area.Llubit rose from being a barangay councilman to barangay chairman owing to his tough approach against drugs and criminality in his area of jurisdiction that stretches from San Rafael Village at the boundary of Barangay Maa all the way to Camus Street in downtown area.
