Packing maximum sustained winds of 215 km/h as of Saturday evening, April 17, Typhoon Bising continues to intensity and could become a super-typhoon once its wind power exceeds 220 km/h.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a bulletin released past 11 pm on Saturday, said that Typhoon Bising (Surigae) is gaining strength over the Philippine Sea.
The weather bureau said Bising was located 395 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. as of Saturday evening .
Pagasa said Typhoon Bising currently has maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gustiness of up to 265 km/h and could develop into a super typhoon in the next 24 hours.
