NO TO ‘LUMAD’. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples wants to correct the misnomer that all ethnic groups can be called “lumad”. In Resolution 08-009-2021 issued on March 2, 2021, the commission said the elders, leaders, and members of different ICC/IP groups in Mindanao requested that they not be called “lumad”.
