
The Philippine Red Cross is purchasing 2.2 million vaccines, as the country preps up for the start of a nationwide vaccination.
“I’ve ordered, if allowed, from big companies such as AstraZeneca two million doses, Moderna 200,000 doses,” Sen. Richard Gordon, also PRC chairman, said Wednesday, February 3.

On top of of this, Gordon said the PRC would talk with also talk with other companies for supply of the Covid-19 vaccines.
Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government has already secured 108 million doses  from different vaccine manufacturers.
Only Pfizer and AstraZeneca  already have emergency use authorization  (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Three companies are still waiting for their EUA approval from the FDA namely Russia’s Gamaleya Institute, China’s Sinovac, and India’s Bharat Biotech.
