Earlier this week, President Rodrigo Duterte, in his address to the nation, asked Vice President Leni Robredo where she had been staying as a typhoon lashed Luzon.
Duterte dished out the question as Robredo in her posts in social media with the hashtag, #NasaanAngPangulo, hinted at the President’s supposed no-show in government’s response planning during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses.
Addressing Robredo, the President asked: “Kung sabihin ko tuloy sa iyo, what time did you go home? Ikaw noong gabi, anong oras ka umuwi? Isang bahay ka lang ba? Dalawang bahay ka? Tatanong lang ako kasi congressman ka. At kaninong bahay ka natagalan? Iyan ang sabihin ko sa iyo.”
Robredo, in reponse to her critics and Duterte said: Please spare the congressman’s family!
Roberdo, widow of the late Interior secretary Jesse Robredo, according to her critics, is in a relationship with former Quezon City Rep. Jorge “Bolet” Banal.
In a Facebook post, Robredo slammed those behind spreading fake news about her, including the persistent rumors of her supposed love life. She expressed dismay that the rumors dragged the congressman’s family.
“Napakabait sa amin ng buong pamilya niya. Tumutulong sila sa maraming proyekto namin hanggang ngayon. Huwag na sana nilang idamay sa kabastusan nila kung ako lang naman ang pinupuntirya nila,” she said.
“Marami nang beses nilang sinabi na nanlalaki ako. Ilang beses, nag post ng mga pictures na kung sino sinong kasama ko, sinasabing boyfriend ko,” she said.
