The office of Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Z. Duterte kicks off its barangay caravan service on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
The initial salvo was held at the gym of Barangay 76-A along Sandawa, Davao City.
As of 11 a.m., police authorities already estimated around 3,000 people availing of the various services offered by the caravan.
Among the services are dental service, medical check-up, medicines, eye check-up and free reading glasses, livelihood program for solo parents, legal services related to violence against women and children, anti-drug abuse lecture, basketball clinic and 3on3 competition, and food packs.
Jay Villarica, chief of staff of Cong. Duterte, said they will hold weekly caravan service in all 54 barangays of the 1st district to ensure that government services would be available to the people and right into their barangays.
Cong. Duterte was represented by his son and presidential namesake Rodrigo Duterte II.
In a statement, the presidential grandson said that since his father is busy representing the people of Davao City in Congress, he deemed it fit to attend, on his father’s behalf, so that the Dabawenyos would be reminded that the Dutertes continue to serve the people in whatever capacity.
“Naa man atuang Congressman sa kauluhan tungod sa iyang trabaho sa kongreso iyang gusto sa serbisyo publiko sa opisina o sa mga kalamidad naa gyuy Duterte nga makit-an kay utang kabubut-on namo ni sa katawhan,” said Rodrigo II.
Aside from the caravan service, the office of Cong. Duterte also gave financial assistance to the fire victims in Matina Pangi.
The house owners receive P5,000 while boarders/sharers get P3,000.
