Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque on Sunday confirmed the death of the second case of the coronavirus in the Philippines.
Following news of the death, President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday ordered a ban on travel to the Philippines by foreigners coming from China, where 304 people have been killed and  14,500 others infected by the virus that has now spread to 24 countries.
In a press briefing, Duque said the second case was admitted to San Lazaro Hospital in Sta. Cruz, Manila for pneumonia after experiencing fever, cough, and sore throat.
The Chinese man was the companion of the 38-year old Chinese woman who was earlier confirmed as the first case of nCoV in the country.
Both patients are from Wuhan in China and arrived in the country last January 21.
