Mocha Uson’s post in her Facebook account that Leni Robredo offered only “five pieces of pandesal and a bottle of water” to evacuees fleeing the Taal Volcano eruption has sparked a ballistic retort from the Vice President.
On Wednesday, Uson in her blog commented on Robredo’s visit to several evacuation centers to distribute relief goods to evacuees from the Taal Volcano eruption.
Uson, a rabid supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, former Communications undersecretary and now deputy executive director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), claimed that Robredo offered only “five pieces of pandesal and a bottle of water” to the evacuees.
On Thursday, Robredo skewered Uson for spreading “fake news,” adding the entertainer’s action was “an insult” to the Filipino people.
“Why are we allowing a purveyor of fake news to be employed by the government?” asked Robredo.
“It is the Filipino people’s money that’s being used to pay Uson,” Robredo said, adding that Uson “poisons the minds of Filipinos” by spreading false information.
