Ambushed Ampatuan Massacre witness under tight guard in Davao

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has wrapped a tight security cordon around a hospital attending to a vital witness in the infamous Ampatuan Massacre who survived an ambush in Shariff Aguak town in Maguindanao province.
Kaharudin “Butch” Saudagal was on his way, with another witness Dennis Sakal, to testify in a court hearing on the massacre when waylaid by a group of armed men around 7AM Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
Sakal, a former driver of Andal “Datu Unsay” Ampatuan Jr. died in the ambush; Saudagal, who had worked for the Ampatuans, survived and was immediately rushed to a hospital in Davao City.
The ambush came six days ahead of the anniversary of the November 23, 2009 massacre where 58 people including 32 journalists were killed in the mass murder tagged as the “worst politically-related killings” in the Philippines and the world.
Multiple murder charges have been filed against members of the Ampatuan clan led by former Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan, Sr.
